ANOINTING OF THE SICK

Anointing of the sick in the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick, Jesus heals the sick through the priest's ministry, addressing both sin and sometimes physical ailments. His healings were signs of the Kingdom of God and his mission to conquer sin and death.
Key Points:
  • You don't need to wait until someone is near death to request the Sacrament; a serious illness or surgery is sufficient.
  • The Sacrament aims for physical healing if it's God's will, but primarily offers spiritual healing, peace, and courage to deal with the difficulties that accompany serious illness or the frailty of old age.
Contact:
  • To request Anointing for someone who is sick, contact the parish office at [email protected] or (434) 237-5911.
  • Anointing may also be requested also after Mass.
