catholic social doctrine series
Adults ages 18 and older are invited to a new series exploring the seven themes of Catholic social teaching through documents from popes, Church councils, and bishops.
The first four-session study will focus on Rerum Novarum, Pope Leo XIII’s 1891 encyclical on the rights and duties of workers and employers. Pope Leo XIV has cited this encyclical as one reason he chose his name. Join us to read the document and discuss how its teaching speaks to work, human dignity, and economic life today.
When: Tuesdays, October 20–November 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
Where: St. Bonaventure Room, downstairs. Enter through the More Aid entrance and take the stairs on your right.
Materials / Resources for the course: You can either download your own copy of the encyclical from the Vatican website: Rerum Novarum (May 15, 1891) Or contact Trish Pabis, [email protected], and she will provide you with a paper copy.
