All Catholic students in public, private, and parochial schools grades 8-12 are invited to participate in the 2021 Knights of Columbus Catholic Citizenship Essay Contest. Students are encouraged to write a 500-750 word essay, the theme is -- Describe some everyday obstacles to living a life of authentic faith, and how to overcome them, while providing examples from your own life.
Consider especially those times when it was a challenge to understand why something was happening. Consider also sharing any lessons about faith and hope you or someone you know may have learned from this experience. “Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy” (1 Peter 1:8).
All contestants are recognized for their participation and winners from the 8th - 9th grade and the 10th – 12th grade will receive a monetary prize. Participants are required to furnish a parental consent. Entry form information is available in the parish office. All essays must be returned to the parish office by close of business, Monday, October 30, 2021 (extensions may be possible but this is current target).
