Join your STM family in celebrating the Communion of Saints by participating in a modified version of "Trunk or Treat" called the: Parade of Saints
This event will have three stages:
1. Decorating of trunks of cars:
Parishioners (aka the "Host") will arrive between 5 pm and 6 pm to decorate the trunks of their cars in a non-scary Halloween theme ("Hosts" of trunks can also dress up * no need to supply candy!) |
2. All Saints Day Prayer Service:
Begins promptly at 6 pm |
3. Parade of Saints
- Youth, birth through middle school, will dress up as their favorite saint or as the patron cause of their favorite saint (ex: The youth can dress up as St. Michael the Archangel with wings and a fiery sword OR as a police officer whose patron is St. Michael the Archangel) and will march up and down the rows of decorated cars showing off their costumes. |
Here is a helpful link with additional ideas of possible costume designs: At the beginning of the event, each youth in costume
(as well as any "hosts" in costume) will receive a "I'm Saint..." or "My patron saint is..." ribbon to wear during the parade. |
At the end of the event, a "gift bag" of candy treats will be distributed per participant. If interested in participating, either as a "host" to decorate a car OR as a youth in the parade, please sign-up on the SignUp Genius. More details regarding the specifics of the event (times, exact location, etc.) can be found in the SignUp Genius write up. Questions, please contact Trish Pabis at relformation@stmva.org. |
