More Aid is an outreach of the St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Faith Community that provides financial assistance, a food pantry, and diaper assistance services to families in need. More Aid Frequently Asked Questions
1. What are the hours for More Aid and The Food Pantry?
Tuesday and Thursday from 9-12
2. What do you help with financially?
Evictions, 10 or 14 day writs and first month’s rent Termination notices on utilities – we cannot assist on deposits
We do a minimal amount for oil from Sterling, Foster and Candler oil. It WILL NOT be the total amount.
3. What do I need to bring in for financial assistance?
If it is an eviction notice, or first months rent on a rental we will need the following:
a) Your Id
b) A hard copy of the eviction notice or a 10 or 14 day writ
c) Landlords information including phone number.
***We DO NOT help with past due rent it must be an EVICTION
For utilities – Water, Gas(home heating) and electricity you will need the following:
a) Your ID
b) Physical copy of the most current bill. If it is on your phone Because you pay this way please have it ready for us to see.
c) It MUST be a disconnect notice or already off. We are not able to help with a deposit.
4. How often can I come in for financial assistance?
You can only come in 2 times in a year and the visits must be at least 6 months apart.
5. How often can I come in for the Food Pantry?
You are always more then welcome to come in to visit our Food Pantry one time each week. The Food Pantry is open from 9am-12 on Tuesday and Thursdays.
It is to your advantage to go to another agency before coming here. If you come in with a pledge amount that you can show us it can be the difference between receiving $50 or a $100.
