Music Ministry

The only thing missing is you!
Do you sing or play an instrument? We invite persons of all skill levels to join us as we worship the Lord!. We need people with the heart for worship at each of our masses. For more information, please speak with Mark Wilson after Mass, or contact us at the information below.
The problem with Christianity is not that it has been tried and found wanting, but that it has been found difficult and left untried. "
- G. K. Chesterton

So, what is the purpose of a choir?

A choir functions in many ways both inside and out of the liturgy. Primarily, the choir serves to lead and enliven the congregation's song. By preparing to sing beautiful and challenging music, choirs glorify God and edify the congregations they minister to. Choirs also serve as a small-group within the parish for faith formation, being for the members a place of spiritual growth and nurturing.

We are looking to form a regular Children's Choir here at STM. If your child (or one you know) is in K-5 and is interested in this opportunity, please email music@stmva.org. Once we get enough children signed up, we will have a parents meeting to discuss meeting and performance times!
