To work with children at St. Thomas More (STM) or anywhere in the Diocese of Richmond, you must complete VIRTUS training and pass a background check.
The Diocese requires all adults over 18 who want to volunteer and interact with children to attend the Protecting God’s Children (PGC) course to become VIRTUS certified. This 3-hour course includes watching a video and participating in discussions. VIRTUS training is available at various locations throughout the Diocese, including STM. STM has two certified VIRTUS instructors who regularly schedule classes throughout the year. For training dates and locations, visit the Diocesan website (below) or contact Trish Pabis for more information. Background checks must be renewed annually. You will be notified by the Coordinator of Religious Formation K-5 when your background check is due for renewal. STM covers the cost of background checks. Parish Virtus Representatives:
