STM YOUTH

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Middle School youth group is for youth that are in grades 6th-8th. During our time together we explore our faith and how it applies in a middle school world. We also begin to encourage the youth to start taking ownership of their own faith. We encourage them to encourage their peers and families in their faith. We begin solidifying their faith foundation for what lies ahead of them on their journey.

HIGH SCHOOL

High School youth group is for youth that are in grades 9th-12th. During this youth group we take time to learn how we can combine our faith life and our social life. We discuss modern topics that currently affect or will soon affect our teenage youth. We focus on growing our faith together through conversations, social activities, and putting our faith into action.

CONFIRMATION

The Sacrament of Confirmation is for youth who are 15 and/or in the 10th grade.
Confirmation is as defined in the Catechism of the Catholic Church:

THE SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION

Baptism, the Eucharist, and the sacrament of Confirmation together constitute the "sacraments of Christian initiation," whose unity must be safeguarded. It must be explained to the faithful that the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. 88 For "by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.” We take this time prepare the youth for this next step in their faith journey and further.
